Zone Read
Walk Forward, whenever hitting a Dead End / Edge Turn to the Direction the Zone continues, and continue walking forward.
Vaal Ruins is a bit more complex of a Zone. To identify what Pattern the Zone follows we first need to walk in the Direction the Start lets us. I recommend following the Simple Rule till we identify a Pattern.
-
The first Pattern we can identify or exclude is the V Pattern, if we walk South for a long distance then hit the South Corner, we know we are in the V Pattern. Alternative if we cannot walk South all the Way into the South Corner, we can exclude the V Pattern.
-
On the same Step of Identifying or Excluding we can look at the Fast Variant, if we can walk South-West until we see the Vaal Room, we are in the Fast Variant. Otherwise we will hit a Dead End or Zone Edge.
-
The Spiral Pattern we can identify when we enter the Vaal Room and it is behind the Entrance on the Minimap, but we too East Turn at the Start, we are in the Spiral Pattern.
-
Finally to differentiate between the diffrent S Patterns, look in which direction the Zone is extending in. The 2nd Turn will always go the opposite Direction then the First Turn.
